Can I use the mc 14 or mc 20 with the 12-100 f.4 lens?

I used the EM1 2 with a 7-14 mm lens. Are the red dots focus peaking???

Hello,
I used manual focus with a 60 second exposure on my screen to try to focus before going into live composite mode. I turned the focusing ring and would get a red set of dots. I couldn't get anything sharp.
What should be my procedure? I am brand new to live composite and night sky.

What is the difference between them and in which scenario would I choose the tracking??
