Re: Up to critique

Hi Paul, Can you please repost your pictures as individual shots. Also, when posting, look for the "post inline" button, so we get full size images. These are displaying too small for me to see properly. Thanks, Rick Hi, I`ve done that. Place inline. And this is a composite. This is the full image,...

Re: Lens Talk Forum

I was thinking of adding some sort of dedicated lens section. Wasn't sure how to break it down. Look for it soon. Thanks for the suggestion. Rob, May I suggest you break this down by PRO, Semi-PRO, and Consumer. Semi-PRO would be those better quality lenses with weather sealing. A second or sub-cat...

Re: Panning for motion blur

There's two types of motion blurring to consider: 1) having the background blurring to show that something is moving; like a racing car or fast jet against a blurred background ; 2) having some blurring on the kids' arms and legs, to show that they're actually moving, as versus standing in a running...

Lyrids Spectacular Meteor Shower

The Lyrids Meteor Shower will be visible over the UK and Europe from 21st to 23rd April 2020.

This is one of the most spectacular meteor showers.

Recommendation is to watch towards the East after midnight. Prediction is around 20 shooting stars per hour.

Re: LOCKDOWN STORE CUPBOARD FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY CHALLENGE

I came across this food photograph on a supermarket food recipe tonight. It's not as good as some of our food submissions, but I do like the way the egg is treated. The egg yolk looks yellow and full, yet it's spilling some beautiful looking yolk. Quite possibly, there's a tube injecting more runny ...

Re: LOCKDOWN STORE CUPBOARD FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY CHALLENGE

@Paul, maybe you could start selling tea towels, cooking aprons, and t-shirts printed with your "Lockdown Chowdown" food pictures on eBay ? @Wahab, now those pictures really do make me hungry. That oozing burger bun has me salivating. Good job 😺. @Roberto, yes, the cooking (especially the eggs) is l...

Re: How to HOLD your camera

Rob, what you're doing with two cameras is called "juggling" . Whereas, sane photographers only use one camera at a time. Interestingly, this is one of the few occasions when left-handed people have an initial advantage. Holding the camera unit by the lens, in your left hand, should com...

How to HOLD your camera (updated with pictures)

When I was studying photography, perhaps the single most important lesson I learnt is that "you hold the lens : you don't hold the camera". This lesson is particularly important if you're working with the bigger and heavier PRO series lenses, or any of the longer telephoto lenses with an M43 system ...
