Is it too early?
Is it too early to post Christmas pics? Rob had a holiday green screen yesterday. I'm taking that as a green light. So...

I have updated my website http://www.gearheaddreams.com to include links to slideshows of the Riparian Water Preserve, the Grand Canyon, and the Superstition Mountains. Also I have updated the menu with a link to my "Italy" page. I have shutdown my online store but I have kept all the sunflower imag...

Lost Dutchman Trail
The Lost Dutchman trail to Weaver's Needle is 7 miles one way. I made it 2.6 miles to Parker's Pass. I took the distant shot with my EM1.3 and the Oly 40-150 f4-5.6 lens. Weaver's Needle first appears in image #5. There are only 7 images, just 25 seconds long. I think the bird is a Golden Eagle? Los...

Massacre Falls Trail
The Superstition Mountain Trails have reopened after the wildfires. I took my new EM1 markIII with my trusty 17mm f1.8 on a hike on the trail to Massacre Falls. I started the hike predawn. It is a 6 mile round trip hike. It was 1 mile too long for this 73 year old and took several hours but I made i...

Shutdown photo journal Riparian sunrise
During the shutdown we often walked the Riparian Preserve before sunrise to avoid the record breaking heat in the 'valley of the sun'. (Trivia: All time records broken in the Phoenix area this summer include, 145 days =>100°, 53 days => 105°, 14 days =>110°.) All images were shot with my EM-1 and th...

Strange! The link did work from this forum post. It does not work now. The link is good. I cut and paste link to browser - works. I enter link in web browser - it works. The linked mp4 is on my website. It also works from there. I'll create the link again to see if it works. http://www.gearheaddream...

Photo journal during the shutdown
During the Covid shutdown we found a place to get out, get some fresh air and exercise, it is the Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch in Gilbert, Arizona. This place has 7 water ponds so this is a bird photographer's paradise. I am not a bird photographer but couldn't resist trying to capture a few bir...
