Re: Suggested video: 75mm f1.8 digital zoom vs 75-300mm at 300mm optical zoom
You've been so busy, Rob. Are you making any headway on this? I have a feeling the 75mm at f/1.8 will be as sharp as most lenses at about 100mm lenses, probably beating out the 14-150, 40-140 (non-pro), 12-200, 12-100 pro (maybe), and 75-300. Of course, it's just a theory and I could be wrong. It wo...

This would be pitting one of the sharpest M43 lenses against one of the softest and slowest M43 lenses (at 300mm, knowing full-well that this lens has many other benefits). You could throw in a twist with DXO and its AI detail recovery features. Why not Photoshop's AI too? I have a feeling it's clos...

Suggested video: 75mm f1.8 digital zoom vs 75-300mm at 300mm optical zoom
Not sure if this has been done before, but I'd like a real-world comparison between the Olympus 75-300 at 300mm vs the Olympus 75mm F1.8 at 1.8 cropped and upscaled to match the Olympus 300mm. Is it possible to just skip the 75-300mm altogether and reap the rewards of F1.8 with much faster Sutter sp...

Re: XnView & Affinity Photo
Thank you for the information and feedback. I'm still on the fence about it, but I don't really want to make any decision until my E-P7 is supported by Affinity photo and Apple. If it doesn't get supported, I'll end having to go the DNG route, which is frustrating yet still acceptable. I could also ...

Re: Question regarding E-P7 and 75mm f/1.8
Never mind. I found the problem. I set my camera's "flicker reduction" to "50hrz". Apparently, anything other than "auto" messes with the cameras ability to no do this. I confirmed this on the E-M1 ii. Set the flicker reduction to "50hrz" and it exhibits the exact same behaviour. Still, if this happ...

Question regarding E-P7 and 75mm f/1.8
I just got the 75mm f/1.8 and it has an interesting behaviour when shooting in PSAM modes. Because this lens has very large aperture blades, you can hear the blades quite easily. This issue is that it make this noise in all the PASM modes, but not in video mode. Also, not if I choose the AEL button ...

XnView & Affinity Photo
I just wanted to ask some of you if you're using the combo of XnView and Affinity Photo. I've been working with XnView for the past month and I really appreciate its price (free for individuals/cross platform), fast loading speeds of RAW photos (something LR can't do for some reason), customisabilit...

Pictures of my beloved Mittens, enjoyed by the whole family. Taken with the PL9. The close-ups were with my 45mm + macro extension and flash. The others were natural light.
