Handheld Hi-res with the 100-400mm

Post by Kasper Nyberg »

Hand held Hi-res with the 100-400mm on 400mm.
I finally remembered to try it out, and after a few attempts I managed to get a few shots.

Very cool shots. DOF aside, does the camera with that lens successfully work most of the time?

Thank yoy Rob. I think the E-M1 III and the 100-400 is a good combo, its strudy enough to support the lens, and not too bulky when i crawl around to get a low shot. if it fails a shot its usually my own fault. :)

Very interesting and sure shows how shallow the dof is. Would be great to for cropping and effectively extending the reach of the lens.

they are both shot at f6,3 just cropped a little. the dof is actually better than what im used to with a macro lens even in mft format.
Here is anotner normal shot at f6,3 no crop. I usually need f8-13 to get the dof i need for a butterfly, but at 400mm i can do it at f6,3.

Pretty. Although I can see Rob looking at this and seeing the crop he would do. :)
