My today's Daily Pictures on the Railway

Post by John Fallows »

Hi Rob and all in the Forum.
I have been trying out my newly acquired 40-150 PRO lens on the local railway. [North of England, UK]
All three were taken with a EM1 Mk2 with the 1.4 Teleconverter attached.
At first sight this lens seems to be in a different class compared with my Tamron 14-150mm Dii lens and even compared to the Oly 75-300mm II lens.
Most of the difference is in the under-car detail which is really sharp.
I will do some proper comparisons with the 75-300mm when I take both out at the same time in a real life situation, probably back on the railway where the images cover lots of different detail types.
These are only JPGs but I think I will do RAWs as well next.

Olympus EM1 Mk2 was set to CAF Tracking, single AF point, 1000th second shutter. Lens was between 63mm and 73mm.

More soon!

This is a good test with the carriage and rail detail compared with the countryside.

Saving up for 40-150 pro and teleconverter. Glad to read your comments John on the lens, and great photos.
