How good is that 40-150 kit lens?

Pen F, ISO 200, 1/400, f5.6 / f8 sharpness +2 and contrast +2 SOOC JPEG

It's an amazing lens considering the price. It sells for $99 or less all the time. Some of my favorite images are from this lens.

Thanks for sharing these images. I particularly like the second one, where is it taken? I checked mine for the focal length and both were taken at 49mm - I have read that this lens is particularly sharp at around 70mm. As Rob says it is a bargain in the Olympus line up.

I'm not too sure if these are my best photos BUT these are some that made me go "WOW, look at how sharp!"

I would say my only image quality issue I have with it is the purple fringing in hard contrast lighting. For taking care of the lens, is to check and wipe off any dust or moister on the inner barrow and to store the lens in your bag with the front element facing down. This will ensure any dust or moister won't fall into the back of the lens. Its not very sealed especially when the lens is tromboned out. With that all said and done its $99 and if you get dust or moister, its $99. Did I mention that its $99? (I think we all did.) :D

@150mm, 1/1600, F6.3, -0.7 EV, ISO 200.
