Good morning all!
I have been watching Rob's videos at a distance and have been drawn in seeing all of the editing videos, chats, etc.
I hail from central Illinois and am a school principal. I started shooting pictures again in my 30's. The iphone got me started as did the birth of my first Child. I then graduated to a Kodak el-cheapo point and shoot. On fathers day one year, I got serious with my "father's day cash" and picked up the Olympus EPM-1. The phrase is "close, but no cigar" and quickly jumped to the EM-10, then the 10.2 then the 1.2 and now the em1.3 (as well as most recently an EPM-2 and a panasonic 20 1.7 per an idea planted by Derek Story over at the Digital Story for just knocking around.
Have also been blessed to be one of the administrators at the OM-D Education group over on Facebook which allowed me to become an Olympus Superfan and be sent on a trip to San Francisco to try out the new 1.2 glass and the 12-100 f4 when it was first introduced. That was incredibly fun, but is by no means the driving force behind my volunteer work over at the education group.
I really enjoy seeing people pick up the gear and get started. It also has made me a little sad to not see Olympus grow to prominence in the industry as I know how capable (with limitations) the gear is. I am hoping for better days with the changes they are undergoing.
Rob was on our "education group" radar when we had people that really wanted to "get started" with their Olympus gear. We liked Rob because he was and is the even-keel non-hyperbolic voice of reason when learning your gear. Others take you through the thoughts and opinions and comparisons. Rob takes you into to the settings and the how to's. Love that about him and what he has created here.
I look forward to reading through the group and seeing what other photographers are doing. Also looking forward to having Rob play with some of my images and vice versa.

Welcome, Adam! That is quite the story. Thanks for sharing. I had no idea there was a superfan status with Olympus. Pretty neat.
Thanks for the kind words. I try.
Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
