Hello everyone

Post by fjhleger »

My first name is François (i know, this is hard for the US people, but simple in reality, think of France, then end up with a 'Oh ah' with the a as the a from access). I am 68, live in Belgium.

I started with olympus since 2005, an E330 i bought in California on the recommendation from a good friend. Then upgraded to a E510 and finally to a E30. At that time, i didn't have the money to buy good lenses, keept working with the prime and cheap lens.

Then i upgraded to m43 with an Em5 mk 2, an Em1 mk 2 and pro lenses.

I am mainly doing landscape photography, including panoramic one.

Welcome to the forum!

I wasn't into photography at all when the E series cameras came out. I think about getting one sometimes. They go dirt cheap.

Sorry, small mistake: the old one is a E300, not a E330. I still own it and it still works, but i am puzzled how simple it it to use  : no super control panel and the menu is organized completely differently from the current models. I will say the m43 are a lot, really a lot better than the old 43.
However, the E300 stand out with it's sensor manufactured by KODAK which render the colors very nicely.

Pretty cool. Didn't know they had Kodak sensors.

yes, they had, the e300,e400 and e500 i think. not sure about the e1, but this is mostly probable. The next generation introduce the live view, with the x10 series, and the ibis with the e510.

Some samples of color rendition, just converted to jpeg as i do not have the original SOOC.

Anyway, thank you very much for your YouTube video, they are great, refreshing and informative. Many thanks for your work Rob.
