Hi from Spain

My name is Alberto, I live in a town near Madrid, Spain, and I'm a newbie in the world of photography. I had an Olympus film camera in my early 20s (Trip AF), and I liked to take pictures with it, although my knowledge of photography was close to 0, and taking pictures was expensive at the time (buying and developing film rolls cost quite a bit of money for a student).

Last summer I had problems taking a picture with my smartphone during my holidays, at night with my family at the beach with a nice moon background. It could have been a postcard picture, but my smartphone wasn't able to take any decent picture at night. So I decided I would buy a real camera (I also had a point-and-shoot at the moment, which was even worse than the smartphone). After some research, I decided to go for an Olympus E-M10 mark II, which was a good compromise between size, quality and price.

Since then (last October), I have trying to learn to use my machine, and most of what I have learned has been from Rob. He's the best photography teacher I have come across Youtube. It's also a pleasure to listen to him talking (a really soothing voice). I have also learned a lot from Peter Försgard and Robin Wong, who are also very good conveying their knowledge.

And here I am on a neverending road, trying to take better pictures every day, and enjoying the hobby. I think in this hobby there is always something to learn. It promises a lot of fun in the way.
