Hi Everyone,
To those of you who own the Olympus M1 III, will you please comment on a concern I have about the camera's build quality?
I went to my local camera store to pickup my new Olympus M1 III, but did not bring it home yet because the grip is thinly rubberized with a slick plastic feel often found on lower priced camera bodies. It was certainly not up to the standard of the wonderful rubberized grip on the M1 II and M1X.
Does your M1 III also have a thin somewhat slick plastic texture where your fingers grip the camera, or the same rubberized grip on the M1 II and M1X? If not, I wonder if the one M1 III at my camera store is a bad copy?
Thank you for your help!
Craig
M1 MarkIII Build Quality vs M1 MarkII and M1X?
Re: M1 MarkIII Build Quality vs M1 MarkII and M1X?
I didn't notice until you mentioned it. Yes, the rubber on the em1-iii is harder.
I can only guess as I heard some complaints about the rubber grip on the e-m1ii started coming off, so maybe the harder rubber will stay on longer?
Mine is fine, but I rarely take it out for photography.

Thank you for checking the grip on your M1 III, Rob. Maybe that is the reason.
I am looking into body case or wrist grip options because the thinner grip material is too slick and I’m afraid I will drop the camera.
