2nd curtain flash

I have always used 2nd curtain flash with the shutter as this is the way I did it with film. Is there anything different when using 2nd curtain flash with electronic shutter (silent)? I was using it in a basketball practice to capture movement on a dunk. After I was done, I wondered if I could have used the silent mode.
