- The face detection did not automatically shut off
- The spot metering symbol did not change from a round circle to a square
- The metering does not appear to be tied to the spot sensor. When I move it around in the frame the exposure does not change.
- So, I'm assuming the EM1 is too old and does not have this feature or I am doing something wrong. Can anybody confirm if this feature is supposed to work on an EM 1 Mk 1?
Thanks

Tie the EM1 MK 1 to spot sensor
Tie the EM1 MK 1 to spot sensor
I just finished watching Rob's great video on How To Use Spot Metering. I tried to tie my EM1 Mk1 spot meter to the spot sensor. I selected spot metering and noticed the following.
Re: Tie the EM1 MK 1 to spot sensor
I think I replied on youtube, but I don't think the em1.1 can do this.

Re: Tie the EM1 MK 1 to spot sensor
It does work. However face detect takes priority. When there is a face, you can spot off of the face which is good for outdoor events if you do the spot exposure. I used it with backbutton exposure lock so it would meter the face and then hold that when the face moved. Have to remember to switch off the focus lock when you change scenes.

Thank you regarding the face detect. I will experiment with that.
