HDMI video capture dongle

Post by Lemonhawk »

I have the HDMI capture dongle you mention from Amazon,, but is seems to have a lot of noise in. Both streaks that traverse fast horizontally and the entire picture seems to jiggle around. All this is not present in the camera. Any ideas? could it just be a bad mini HDMI cable or is there some other setting I'm missing? Its connecting to an EM10MarkII and set to FHD 60P

Hi. Send it back for an exchange. It should not be doing that! I bought 3 of them and 1 of them did that.

solved!

The 2nd one worked! But not until made several mistakes left over from trying to get the first one working!. First, after trying the new one I could get no video, it would only show what was already recorded on the card. I noticed that the battery was low so swapped in one that I had just charged. Battery was still low, could it have discharged that quick without being to hot to touch -- no. Turns out I forgot to actually charge it. Still finally getting a good battery in didn't not get me real time video. It must be a setting. I started going thru the settings and finally found the HDMI control setting which I had in "YES" and I recall it being "NO" when I got the wiggling video on the old one. Setting control to "NO" made it all work! Not bad for a $19 converter - with a little sorting! Amazon has a quick turnaround on this as I triggered the return yesterday and got a new working one today!

Great to hear! Thanks for the update. It's been working great for me. Only been a month so time will tell.
