Hello All

I did a very interesting test and article this week. It happened on short notice and I haven't had much time to plan. I learned the night before that I will have the Sony for one day and had to quickly prepare a test and the article I wanted to do for weeks.

I am exploring my own advice versus the marketing campaign, "size and capture" more light, theory. The question is "size and capture more light" a workable theory or is it only a marketing stunt and practically of no real value to photographers...

How should the photographer plan to capture the best possible image quality? It's when you challenged with this question (customer demand) that it's really important to start your project from a theoretically credible basis...

Folks I added a really interesting paragraph to the article giving more info to the example using a flash. (see below)

"In other words, we are increasing the reflected light by adding more illumination. We used a double noise reduction strategy by improving the image signal SNR and less image signal amplification (ISO). This will shift the histogram to the right and allow the sensor to capture more tonal data in the shadows. The flash also helped us to up the shutter speed. Folks, we are managing the performance of our image sensor! Always write down your thinking process as you are improving your skills."

So what will this explanation look like on one of the large photography forums?

... I am never going above ISO800 because M43 sensors have way too much noise, I am relying on IBIS because my Olympus camera is great up to 2 seconds and I am keeping my aperture below f5,6 because M43 lenses have a major problem with diffraction. Oh and I never use a flash because who wants a flash with modern cameras, and by the way, my A7 III with its large sensor captures more light and has no issues up to ISO6200...

What they never talk about is all their images of children playing are blurred..?
