OMD5 Mii or OMD1 Mii for Streaming

I am in need of a streaming camera for online videoconferencing for some non-profits I belong to. Could anyone tell me if either the OMD5 Miii or OMD1 Mii can do this without hitting a cut-off time into a meeting of 2.5hrs. On average our meetings last 2hrs and I can't seem to find any information on this.

I own an OMD10 Mii for which I am looking to upgrade to either OMD5 Mii or the OMD1 Mii.

Thanks for any information.

I stream with the OMD-E-M1 Mark II several times per week. The battery reliably lasts 3+ hours. Be sure to use fully charged Olympus original batteries and you'll be fine. The smaller batteries in all the other Olympus cameras will only last 1.5 hours at best.

Sometimes my streams go on for over 3 hours where the battery dies. I simply swap during the stream with no issues. For reference, I'm using OBS Studio and USB-HDMI capture card. OBS doesn't disconnect from the stream when the battery in the camera dies.

If using the webcam software for Olympus, the battery may last longer since the screen and evf turn off when connected to the computer. I haven't tried to see how long the battery will last in an E-M5 Mark II. To use the webcam software, you need to have a tether capable Olympus camera. The EM10's and E-M5 Mark III are not tether capable.

Thanks for the info which I found encouraging. I have put in an order for the OMD-E-M1 Mark II and will give it a go. I notice that it also got a surprisingly good reference from Peter Gregg [ in March 2020, which, he seriously calls the OMD-1 MII as the "Bargain Sleeper of the Year", saying that the new firmware has literally turned the OMD1 (released in 2016) into a brand new camera.

Looks like a good pick all-round.

I am now worrying if I should trade up my OMD10 MII on the OMD1 MII purchase. I am thinking of keep it considering the $180Cdn offered as a trade-in. It is still a good camera. I'll make my mind up the day I pick up my new OMD1.

It's tough for me to trade things in for the same reason. You get so little back. That said, you probably won't miss the OMD10ii once you have the OMD1iii.

I picked up my brand new OMD-E-M1 Mark II yesterday. I have to admit that I worried all the way out to Henry's where I purchased it, wondering if I should keep my old OMD10ii right to the point of parking in front of the store. Well, the long and short of it is that I decided to keep the OMD10ii for the sake of nostalgia and that the trade-in value was $180Cdn, which I could absorb. But then again, as you say, I may end up not missing it at all.

I am looking forward to using my new OMD1 in the next few days.
