I received an email from one of my viewers - Jay. Here is an excerpt.
That link redirects you to the Microsoft Store to download the "Raw Image Extension". I installed it, opened up file explorer and it worked!
Thanks, Jay.
I went to the link which directs you to download this link https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/raw-i ... verviewtabA question came up in the Q&A about problems with Windows 10 Photo reading RAW files. I can’t remember who raised the question, but I posted in the chat that Microsoft has a plug-in for Photos called RAW Image Extension at the Microsoft Store available as a free download.
There is an article addressing this issue at http://howtogeek.com/427588/how-to-open ... indows-10/
Embedded in the article is a link: an up-to-date list of supported cameras. All of my current cameras are supported (don’t ask how many), as are some number of cell phones capable of producing RAW files, and also including my most recently acquired cameras: a Nikon D5600 and a Canon G5X Mark ii. It looks like all of the Oly EM cameras are there, which may be of interest to many of your viewers, with the exception of the EM10 Mark iv, which is probably too new. I downloaded and installed the plug-in, and tested it with the Canon; works fine. I didn’t test it with my phone (Android) because, well, in my simplistic world, a phone is a phone and a camera is a camera, so it would indeed be a rare event for me to take a snap using my phone.
