Rob can the focus system on the olympus camera's and there lenses also be calibrated like the DSLR cameras use to. I saw a youtube video where the Nikon dslr aswell as a Nikon z7 have been calibrated with a very nice program(can't remember program name)

My point of view, i do not want to substitute for Rob.
Yes, this can be used, but i would not recommended this for m43:
1) The phase detection occurs on the picture sensor of the mirrorless camera, therefore the error of positionning between the phase detection versus sensor against the lens mount surface does not exist, and the distance between the sensor surface and the image in focus is what is measured by the phase detection elements.
2) To do a proper calibration, you need to calibrate for an average result, not a specific measurement. This means a lot of work.
3) i am sure Olympus does the needed adjustments in factory during the quality control of the camera.
The only gain i see is if there is an objectif is not really perpendicular to the sensor surface and one is using the focus and reframe method. But in this case, it is far better to select the proper focus point of the camera.
I have done this by curiosity on 4/3rd cameras where the phase detection is mesured by a specialized sensor via a second miror, and have gained a better focusing with an objective i bought second hand that was not giving the expected quality.
I hope this help you somehow.

Thanks, Francois.
I couldn't agree more. I've seen those calibration videos and was tempted. But I've also seen videos from experienced photographers that advise against it because it's a never-ending quest with minimal benefit.
As Francois said, focusing on mirrorless cameras is done on the sensor, so calibration is not really necessary. It's normally in a dslr where the focusing is done off sensor.

Thanks Rob and Francois. Sounds very "difficult" aswell. I just thought about it because it is done with DSLR cameras and lenses. I will rather stick to the reliabilety of the olympus focus system and their excekent calibration and keep on doing photography. As up to now,i had never saw the need in any of my olympus cameras or lenses for the need of a calibration of the focus. Thanks guys.
