Hi. Robin Wong has a great video on Battery Life but he left out the biggest one.
The biggest way to save battery life is putting the camera in quick sleep mode. Check my video here at the 10:30 time stamp.

One quick caveat, Rob. Sometimes, the Quick Sleep option is NOT available in the K menu; in fact, the line won't even appear. The problem lies elsewhere, in the C Menu!
If the Release Lag-Time in the C Menu is set to Short, there will be NO option for Quick Sleep available in the K Menu. To fix this, go to the C menu, find Release Lag-Time, and set that to Normal. Now, when you go to the K menu, the Quick Sleep option will show up (as the last item available). Not so evident!
